Grinder mode Interest
I'm trying to wrap my brain around the interest accumulation in Grinder mode. I've been playing last stand for a while now, and I'm unsure which is better: spending more on towers early, so that I get more resources because I destroy more aliens, which then accumulates interest faster. (larger amount of resources produces more interest) Or: spending the minimal amount on towers, and accumulating interest from the resources saved. It *seems* that killing fewer aliens early, would lead to less resources and less interest on those resources, but for some reason in all my testing, it doesnt quite work out that way. I'm obviously missing something. Any help is appreciated. RM

Steam forums

I can't remember where here I saw an interest topic about how you get most money at least costs. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=487 But I think it went so that you spent so little amount of money to turrets that the aliens can actually get to your cores and almost make it to the exit before dying but I think on Last stand this is very difficult. Basically the interest comes from cores which aren't stolen, meaning remains still on the map, and the current money you can spend. Was the formula something like money left * 0.001 * core amount = money added per 3-5 seconds. Look on the steam forum, there's a lot more mathematical talk than here.

anyone?

anyone?

From my personal experience,

From my personal experience, it's best to save up as early as possible, upgrading turrets only when the aliens are about to break through to the cores (though above all, do not let them actually get to them, as just taking 6 will slow your interest by 1/4. Once i've got my maze laid out, I put a "last chance kill" weapon right next to my cores... if the aliens are reaching that weapon, it's time to upgrade parts of the maze. Note: early in grinder, you get most money from killing aliens, but later in grinder you get most of your money from interest. I know this information is important... just not really sure how to use it.. yano?
